No, it's a normal concern, but don't worry. Your baby's not going to forget you. You should realize, though, that she will—and should—bond with other people… And don't worry if your baby has a meltdown at the end of the day.

She should remember you, but after a few days babies that age "move on" and she will have begun bonding with her caregivers. It's just nature and it's healthy. My sister went through this when we were children and our mother had surgery. She wouldn't even look at our mother when she got home from the hospital. Over time everything went back to normal.

If your baby is still nursing often when you leave, then there is a good chance that he will resume once you return, as long as there is some milk there for him. Your supply will drop during the time you are gone if you are only pumping minimally, but if your baby decides to keep nursing when you return, then it will build up quickly again.

I went away for 1.5 weeks. My little baby didn't forget, but she was a little mad at me. My husband told me she would look out the window for me, and she gets pouty whenever I'm gone for over a day. Her little fit didn't last for long, though, and within 3 or 4 hours everything was forgiven and she was back to cuddling.
