The ovaries produce abnormally high levels of male hormones (androgens), resulting in hirsutism and acne, and infrequent menstrual periods. With PCOS, you are at risk of developing Metabolic syndrome — a cluster of conditions including high BP, high blood sugar, & abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels that increase your risk of heart disease!
